Solution: The times table of 3 shows that 3 x 10 is 30. So, partition 78 as 60 + 18. If the child knows their times tables fluently: 60 ÷ 3 = 20 and 18 ÷ 3 = 6 so 20 + 6 = 26 and the answer is 26.
