Division 2 worksheet provides exercises to practice division by partitioning the number to be divided.
For example: how to solve 156÷4 by
- partitioning 3-digit numbers
and
- practicing the times tables?
Solution: The times table of 4 shows that 4 x 10 is 40. So, partition 156 as 120 + 36. If the child knows their times tables fluently, 120 ÷ 4 = 30 and 36 ÷ 4 = 9 so 30 + 9 = 39, and the answer is 39.
Best get started with it!
